The Linux version of Trackview is the same as the Windows version with one exception. Merging of Flytec Barograph data to an track is not supported, since this function relies on a proprietary DLL by Flytec. The GPS/Vario combinations by Flytec and Bräuniger wre supported though. without restrictions.

Trackview for Linux is based on GTK and makes use of the freely available wxWidgets library.

Installation (Linux, Windows see here):
Copy the downloaded file into any directory and 'untar' it with the following command:

tar -xvzf trackview.tar.gz
		

In order to get Trackview for Linux running, the library wxGTK 2.4 must be installed. This library is available for many distributions. Under Debian (Woody) a '.rpm' paket must be used, since GTK 2.4 is not offically available as '.deb' paket:

alien -d wxGTK-2.4.0-2asp.i386.rpm 
dpkg -i wxgtk_2.4.0_3_i386.deb
